Actress Jennifer Lawrence can add hit single to her resumé after her song from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 soundtrack entered the UK charts at number 29 this week.
In the movie, Lawrence sings ‘The Hanging Tree’, written by Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins with music provided by the Lumineers. The song also features in the book series, with Lawrence’s character Katniss learning the haunting verses from her father.
The triumph comes after the actress said time and again in interviews that singing on the film was the most terrifying thing she has ever done. "I can't stand singing. The idea of singing in front of people is my biggest fear in the entire world. I cried the day that I did that," she told HitFix.
According to Billboard, the new song is also on track to reach the US Billboard Hot 100.
